Symphonic Charity Concert

On Sunday, 28 May 2017 @ 15:00, the NMMU Symphony Orchestra will host a "Symphonic Charity Concert" in support of the Aurora Special Care Centre, a non-profit organization based in Port Elizabeth.

The symphony orchestra, under the baton of Grant Snyman (final year MMus student), will present an exciting programme including works such as Sibelius's Finlandia, Mozart's Flute Concerto No.1 in G major (soloist: Kirsti Limbert), Beethoven Symphony No. 1 and a beautiful composition, "Sarabande for Strings," by the orchestra’s resident South African composer, Peter Louis van Dijk.

The concert with the support from the NMMU Department of Music, SAMRO Foundation and Concert SA is aimed to help support the Aurora Charity and to create an awareness of the amazing work that they and their team do daily in the lives of so many children.

Tickets are R 50.00 for adults and R 30.00 for pensioners/scholars/students and are available through presold bookings through orchestra members or at the door on the day of the concert.
